The power of video to bring us closer to ourselves

Ainslie Williams | 04.2018

“It’s been really good and I think using video in this way allows me to gain a better understanding of who I am and why I might feel the way I do” - Charlie 18

As we’re about to launch our 100th project and I scan over the comments that participants like Charlie leave for us, it’s getting clearer what Qualie is really about.

Functionally we’re an innovative combination of video qual & quant, with algorithms that drive our platform and find consensus but emotionally, it's comments like the one above that have made me think it's much more than that.

We’re providing a deeply human and mindful experience.  A way for people to bring their true authentic self, to dig deep and take a moment in their own time and explore their human condition.  And all this without the usual trappings of qual; the judgement of others, the bright lights of a viewing facility or a daunting one-way mirror.

Maybe it’s my 20 year love affair with the introspective nature of yoga & meditation that has surreptitiously leaked into the design of Qualie but it’s so satisfying to know that helping our clients get closer to the right customer is also helping people get closer to themselves.  That’s a win-win-win in my book and goes to the heart of why I fell in love with research in the first place.
